Surveillance video camera systems are utilized by the York Suburban School District on school property and on buses to enhance the safety of our students. The school district may use the information gathered for disciplinary and/or legal action for inappropriate behaviors as defined by district policy and guidelines.

 OCTOBER 2016 YS PRIDE is now available.



The York Suburban School District is engaging in a study of the feasibility of expanding the opportunities for students to attend full day Kindergarten.  The District will host an information session on October 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Valley View Elementary.  Interested parents and community members are invited to participate in this program.


District officials will share an overview of the research on full day Kindergarten, an overview of the current program in comparison to a full day program, and the cost-benefits to both.  Participants will be invited to ask questions and have their concerns addressed. Please join us!

YSHS designated a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School




The Board of School Directors adopted the 2016-17 General Operating Fund Budget in the amount of $53,238,354 and set the real estate tax rate at 22.4133 mills on June 20, 2016. This represents a 2.4% increase which is equal to the state index set for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
